Age: 26

Village: Enmugakure no Sato
Clan: Yuki
Rank: Jounin (leader)
Element Affinity: Suiton | Fuuton
[/PTab][PTab=Personality]
Rivai is described to be a "clean-freak" by those who know him on a personal level, as he prefers his environment to be spotlessly clean. He is averse to having either his person or his equipment soiled, and has been known to wipe down his blood-smeared blades while still on the battlefield. However, he will not hesitate to touch filth if he deems it necessary. Instances of this include him rescuing a blood-coated clansmen from the battlefield, and grabbing a clansmen's bloody hand as he comforted him during his last moments.
Despite this clean-cut image however, Rivai has an abrasive and unapproachable personality. His manner of speaking is rarely polite, and he often makes alienating comments that are coarse or inappropriate. His dark brand of humour, always delivered in deadpan, ranges from rude to outright vulgar. He tends to phrase things in a brash and insulting manner, and is not above provoking his opponents or belittling anyone who irritates him. This often unsettles people and makes him difficult to be around. He only breaks from this personality for his wife, Ashe, who he claims to be the love of his life.
While Rivai respects order, structure and discipline, he also seems to hold a disdain for authority and the status quo. At village meetings, he insulted councilmen, calling them "pigs" and noting that the military were unable of taking care of themselves. It seems he also holds an open resentment for the military, presumably for their constant interference and attempts to undermine the village. At one point, he mocks them by stating that they have neither battled or even seen a single warrior, and suggests that they join the constant war. In the past, while Rivai lived in the underground, he was a lot more rebellious, and refused to take orders from anyone. However, later when he joined Enmagakure, he comes to respect the Mizukage, and follows his orders because he believes in his abilities as a leader.
However, Rivai has a soft side, though he rarely shows it. One of his most defining characteristics is the great value he places on preserving human life. He himself has stated that he hates having unnecessary casualties, and advises his subordinates to properly use their judgement to avoid blunders that may cost them their lives.
Because of his hazardous profession and personal values, he has come to care greatly for his subordinates' welfare. When ordered to make an early retreat to the wall during a battle, Rivai was visibly frustrated with the fact that his clansmen had died for the sake of a fruitless mission. Rivai was also shown to be greatly disturbed by the loss of an entire special squad, and risked his well-being for the sake of protecting a young shinobi from the a rival jounin, resulting in him sustaining an injury. He has also stated that he carries the will of his fallen comrades, and that their collective grudge against the enemies gives him the strength to continue to fight.
While Rivai shows loyalty and consideration for his comrades, he shows no mercy towards the person he considers to be the enemy, slaughtering them indiscriminately with an obvious indifference. When dealing with individuals he perceives to be enemies to mankind, Rivai's behaviour can become sadistic, and even vindictive. A notable example is his bullying of a warrior when it was captured. Rivai jeered at her, remarking that he enjoyed watching her suffer, and described in chilling detail how he intended to mutilate her human body. Though Rivai is aware that his battle skill is in a different league from almost any other human shinobi alive, he is not particularly arrogant, as he knows through experience that no shinobi can be invulnerable. Few will argue with his claims that only he can handle certain difficult tasks, simply because they know his words are far from empty.
He also seems to have an independent mindset, as many of his missions result in solo kills, with little direct cooperation with other shinobi (due to him usually assigning them to other tasks in the vicinity). Despite being very influencial, and being looked to many as a leader, Rivai often carries out tasks on his own, while rarely if ever needing any assistance.
[/PTab][PTab=Appearance and Attire]
Rivai has long, straight white hair styled in an undercut and sharp, intimidating grey eyes. He is slightly above average height. His physique is well-developed and heavy with muscle from extensive battle. The slight furrow beneath his eyes are at odds with his otherwise youthful appearance. Aside from his constant frown, his expression is calm, and his unflappable demeanour oftentimes makes it difficult to guess what he is thinking.

[PTabbedContent=Ninjutsu][PTab=E-rank]
Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu - Body Replacement Technique
Classification: Ninjutsu, General skill.
Type: Supplementary
Range: -
Hand Seals: Ram → Boar → Ox → Dog → Snake
Requirements: --
This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach the moment an attack hits. This creates an optical illusion, making the enemy think the attack was successful. The user can then use this confusion to escape or launch a counter-attack. Exploding tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Basically all ninja know this technique.
Name: Bunshin no Jutsu - Clone Technique
Classification: Ninjutsu, Bunshinjutsu, General skill.
Type: Supplementary
Range: -
Hand Seals: Ram → Snake → Tiger
Requirements: --
This technique creates intangible copies of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).
Name: Henge no Jutsu -Transformation Technique
Classification: Ninjutsu, General skill.
Type: Supplementary
Range: -
Hand Seals: Dog → Boar → Tiger
Requirements: --
This jutsu allows the user to transform either themselves or another object into the appearance of another person, animal, or object. The transformation technique is considered to be among the more difficult E-ranked techniques, since it requires constant emission of chakra while mentally maintaining the form. On top of that, the user would be, most likely, interacting with the environment. This puts much mental strain on an inexperienced ninja. The transformation would be dispelled when the user is injured or hit.

[/PTab][PTab=History]
Rivai was the first and only child of the Yuki leaders. Due to the revival of peace in the Water Country, he was named Rivai. By three, he could use hyouton. This was unheard of, and Rivai still progressed and became a powerful ninja. At 14, he was regarded as a prodigy of his new clan and as such, his parents began to give him A and B ranked missions and even ask for his thoughts on certain situations. His parents couldn't have been more proud of their little shinobi.
However, due to the circumstances, Rivai was held under a spotlight and much higher standards than any other teenager of his clan. After years of being pressured by his clan, he decided to leave the clan and go to the underground and become a gangster.
Living in the underground, Rivai was able to express a side of him that he never could at the clan. He was wild and rebellious and looked up to no one as his superior. He began going by Rivaille in hopes to further distance himself from the Yuki clan. And due to the constant moving and the large amounts of people in the ring, he was unable to be hunted for leaving the clan. Being surrounded by drugs, whores, and guns 24/7, his personality and well-being began to deteriorate. Before he knew it, he was an addict and constantly on the brink of death.
One time, while smuggling drugs across the country border at 18, Rivai was caught by a guard known as "Commander Eruuin". Eruuin spotted Rivai and promptly went to question him. When he spoke to Rivai, Rivai pulled out a kunai and tried to kill Eruuin and failed miserably. Eruuin was about to execute Rivai on the spot until he noticed Rivai crying, asking Eruuin to finish him. Eruuin felt remorse and took Rivai as his student.
The two trained extensively for 4 years and Rivai began to surpass his Eruuin in every way. While doing a transport job for the Lightning Diamyo the two were attacked by a band of 13 bandits. Though he fought valiantly, Rivai was no match for the bandits. Before the bandit murdered him, Eruuin sacrificed himself without second thought to save Rivai. As Eruuin's blood splattered on Rivai, he went insane and killed the bandits in 47 seconds.
After the ordeal, Rivai went to the Water Country's council and told them about the situation. To his anger, they simply told him it was unfortunate and that he should "move on". Surprisingly, Rivai kept his cool and simply returned to his clan, angered.
When he returned to his clan, he was regarded as a hero. His parents were ecstatic to finally have their son back and handed leadership of the Yuki clan over to him, as they planned to do when they had him. He decided to join the new Enmagakure, as he had tons of respect of the Mizukage. And finally proposed to his childhood friend and ally, Ashe.
Now leading his clan at 25 with his parent's and wife's support, Rivai has fully accepted the ninja way of losing all emotion and practices it with extreme ease and strictness. He now hopes to lead his clan in a lifetime of peace and tranquility and is loved by his clan and his village. He is often given very important and dangerous missions by the Mizukage, missions that the average shinobi couldn't hope to accomplish. Despite that, he does it with extreme ease.
