The eight gates, as we all know, were incredibly OP, so I thought of ideas to make them usable. Because in a world with Senjutsu, Mangekyou Sharingan and people who talk in the theatre, Taijutsu really needs its way to stay relevant in the long term. So, here are my ideas.
The main premise is that the eight gates provide a significant stat boost - at the cost of stat loss after the effect. I won't put this in a stat block, Ill let our lord and master Kawiie do that when he approves this, but I was thinking for every point of stat you gain, you lose equal to that after the effect. The greater the power, the more you lose, and for longer. I was thinking for every turn you have it on, the length of time you lose the stats is multiplied. So for the second gate, you lose 1 point in speed for x turns, x being how many turns you have it active. With the preamble aside, here is my tentative stat ideas for each gate;
First gate; The Gate of Opening
When activated, grants +1 force. Until deactivated, grants access to Front lotus. Upon deactivation, lose 1 force for the duration of (Turns activated) turns. This can be remain active for a duration equal to (Base Physical Energy*2).
Second gate; The Gate of Healing
When activated, grants +1 force and restores stamina to max temporarily. Until deactivated, grants access to Front lotus. Upon deactivation, stamina returns to what it was, minus any extra damage taken, and lose 1 force for the duration of (Turns activated*2) turns. This can be remain active for a duration equal to (Base Physical Energy*2).
Third gate; The Gate of Life
When activated, grants +1 speed and +1 force, and restores stamina to max temporarily. Until deactivated, grants access to Front lotus and Reverse Lotus. Upon deactivation, stamina returns to what it was, minus any extra damage taken, and lose 1 force and 1 speed for the duration of (Turns activated) days. This can be remain active for a duration equal to (Base Physical Energy*2).
Fourth gate; The Gate of Pain
When activated, grants +2 speed and +2 force, and restores stamina to max temporarily. Until deactivated, grants access to Front lotus and Reverse Lotus. Upon deactivation, stamina returns to what it was, minus any extra damage taken, and lose 1 force and 1 speed for the duration of (Turns activated*2) days. This can be remain active for a duration equal to (Base Physical Energy*2).
Fifth gate; The Gate of Limit
When activated, grants +3 speed and +3 force, and restores stamina to max temporarily. Until deactivated, grants access to Front lotus and Reverse Lotus. Upon deactivation, stamina returns to what it was, minus any extra damage taken, and lose 2 force and 2 speed for the duration of (Turns activated) weeks. This can be remain active for a duration equal to (Base Physical Energy*2).
Sixth gate; The Gate of View
When activated, grants +3 speed and +4 force, and restores stamina to max temporarily. Until deactivated, grants access to Morning Peacock, Front lotus and Reverse Lotus. Upon deactivation, stamina returns to what it was, minus any extra damage taken, and lose 3 force and 2 speed for the duration of (Turns activated*2) weeks. This can be remain active for a duration equal to (Base Physical Energy*2).
Seventh gate; The Gate of Wonder
When activated, grants +5 speed and +5 force, and restores stamina to max temporarily. Until deactivated, grants access to Daytime Tiger, Morning peacock, Front lotus and Reverse Lotus. Upon deactivation, stamina returns to what it was, minus any extra damage taken, and lose 4 force and 4 speed for the duration of (Turns activated) months. This can be remain active for a duration equal to (Base Physical Energy*2).
Eighth gate; The Gate of Death
When activated, grants +7 speed and +7 force, and restores stamina to max temporarily. Until deactivated, grants access to Night Guy, Evening Elephant, Daytime Tiger, Morning peacock, Front lotus and Reverse Lotus. Upon deactivation, the user dies. This can be remain active for a duration equal to (Base Physical Energy*2).
